Southwest Delta

Within the Southwest Delta, various parties are working towards one goal: an economically vital, ecologically resilient, safe and climate-proof delta.

Within the Southwest Delta, the ministries of Infrastructure and Water Management (IenW), Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality (LNV) and Economic Affairs and Climate (EZK), the provinces of North Brabant, Zeeland and South Holland, the Brabant Delta Water Boards, Scheldestromen and the Dutch Delta and the municipalities together with social parties, knowledge institutions and entrepreneurs towards one goal: an economically vital, ecologically resilient, safe and climate-proof Delta. The directors involved take part in the Area Consultation. The Southwestern Delta consists of Zeeland, South Holland up to and including the Haringvliet and the western part of North Brabant. The Southwest Delta is one of the areas of the national Delta Program. We distinguish between the Southwest Delta as a whole and the systems such as Oosterschelde and Veerse Meer, Volkerak-Zoommeer, Grevelingen and Rijn-Maasmonding. Separate living labs may arise within the Southwest Delta area, such as the Living Lab Schouwen Duiveland. It is the intention to (also) set up sub-communities per system.
